“Wheatake 27” A Response to Wheatake 26 by a Reader
Good morning. Good example are our infrastructure development and our attitude to integration of immigrants (the people who came to help build the territory. The inputs of the period between return of the legislature mid to late 1960s and the UK assistance to build the road from West End to Beef Is. The QE bridge, the BVIHS, the Airport were major development contributions are never really acknowledged for the significant boost they gave us. Since that period after we were emancipated from Grant Aid our infrastructure development has been fought with over spending, wastage and inadequate maintenance. The people who came to help run our education social services were not easily integrated or acknowledged for their contribution after that period. The growth we have achieved is because of the foundation. God forced renewal on us by sending Irma. Homes older than 50 yrs were a hazard. Some public buildings are being rebuilt. But we have benefitted from the work and insight of great men and women who came before us. We do not build anything from scratch most things we do can merely be improvements on what was there before.
