Today the world sees B. V. Islanders as stars on a cloudy day. As a Territory our glow has been eclipsed by the haze that overshadows us. Our Territorial integrity has been weakened but our individual integrity still shines bright. The condition can be compaired to the nailwork that our forebears did for a living. The frame may be broken and ruin the integrity of the tapestry but the threads have not lost their individual integrity thus making the damage reparable. Because of our individual integrity we shall overcome. The haze will dissipate and the stars will show their beauty.
"No matter how severe the storm, when you are with God, there is always a rainbow waiting at the end."
Who stands firm? Only the one for whom the final standard is not his reason, his principles, his conscience, his freedom, his virtue, but who is ready to sacrifice all these, when in faith and sole allegiance to God he is called to obedient and responsible action: the responsible person, whose life will be nothing but an answer to God's question and answer. Dietrich Bonhoeffer.
"Not all storms come to disrupt your life. Some come to clear your path."
Charles H. Wheatley.
