Politically speaking, we are adrift, navigating the unknown. Our forebears navigated the ship of state through turbulent political, economic, and socio-cultural seas and trusted us to continue the onward journey faithfully as good stewards. Unfotunately, some of us have taken the wrong course which led to a turn about and in the turning the current has taken the ship adrift.
That's not the end of the journey. We still have a bitter-sweet freedom to take the correct course.
The great conductor of the Underground Railroad-Harriet Tubman-said:
"Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars, to change the world." Our forebears told us that one bad shot does not spoil a good gunsman. Our problem is there are more than one bad shot. However, Jesus said we must forgive as often as seventy times seven. That is not a licence to do wrong but an opportunity to correct wrong.
Following those admonitions, I believe we can set the ship on the right course. Select dreamers not sleepers, and detox the systems of government. Too much toxin reduces the efficient functioning of our bodies. Now is not the time "to play school."
